Ice Baths
What is an ice bath, and how can Fire and Ice help me incorporate it into my wellness routine?
An ice bath is a form of cold therapy where an individual immerses their body in cold water for a short period of time. It is important to remember that the term “cold” is different from individual to individual and we therefore suggest that you expose yourself through temperature controlled exposure to gradually acclimatise.
What are the benefits of ice baths, and how can Fire and Ice help me experience them?
Ice baths can help reduce inflammation and soreness, improve circulation, and enhance recovery after exercise, see our “Why Ice?” page for more information on this. At Fire and Ice we offer our standard high quality ice bath, as well as offering a bespoke creation process if you are looking for something to suit your brand or a colour change for your space.
How often should I take ice baths, and can Fire and Ice help me create a personalized plan?
The frequency of ice baths can vary depending on the individual and the purpose of the exposure in the first place. We provide an on ramp to cold therapy for beginners with every order, this will help you develop tolerance over the period of 6 weeks. At this point we are confident that you will have felt the benefits of cold exposure and be just as addicted as we are.
Are there any risks associated with ice baths, and how can Fire and Ice Wellbeing help me stay safe?
Ice baths may pose a risk of hypothermia, especially if the water temperature is too low or the duration of the ice bath is too long. At Fire and Ice Wellbeing, we can help you stay safe by providing guidance on the optimal temperature and duration of your ice bath as per the on ramp stage below. We are adamant that cold exposure can be for everyone, but as with every form of exercise and wellbeing, there are often people who take it to the extreme. We highly recommend an acclimatisation phase that is laid out in our plan provided with the ice baths.
How is your Ice bath different to others on the market?
Our ice baths are hand build to order and assembled with pride. On formation of the company, we discussed what we wanted, and it was a unanimous decision to focus on quality over profit margins. Infrared Saunas
What is an infrared sauna, and how can Fire and Ice Wellbeing help me incorporate it into my wellness routine?
An infrared sauna uses infrared technology to heat the body directly, rather than heating the surrounding air. At Fire and Ice, our Infrared Saunas are built on site to the highest standard. We will teach you on site how to use it from both a standalone product and in conjunction with our Premium Ice Baths.
What are the benefits of infrared saunas, and how can Fire and Ice help me experience them?
Infrared saunas can help promote relaxation, improve circulation, and reduce muscle soreness and tension. They may also help support the immune system and improve cardiovascular health. See “Why fire?” for more details.
How often should I use an infrared sauna, and can Fire and Ice Wellbeing help me create a personalized plan?
Whilst our ice baths often need a little more acclimatisation, as long as the individual is careful about their hydration levels, our infrared saunas are ready to go for optimal usage from day one.
There is a programme included in your starting pack that will indicate best practice when it comes to usage of your sauna, including how to contrast hot and cold for optimum results.
Are there any risks associated with infrared saunas, and how can Fire and Ice Wellbeing help me stay safe?
Infrared saunas are generally considered safe for most people, but may not be suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions, such as high blood pressure or heart disease. At Fire and Ice, we can provide guidance and support on how to use the infrared sauna safely, including tips on temperature and duration of use, message us at admin@fireandicewellbeing.com if you have any concerns. If we are unsure, we take pride in knowing when to refer you to a GP.
How can I enhance the benefits of an infrared sauna, and can Fire and Ice Wellbeing help me do so?
To enhance the benefits of an infrared sauna, you can try incorporating deep breathing or meditation to enhance relaxation, or hydrating with water or electrolyte drinks to support circulation, this is a practice that we at fire and ice highly recommend as there is a tendency to lose electrolytes during sweat. What are the differences between traditional saunas and infrared saunas, and how can Fire and Ice Wellbeing help me choose the right sauna for me?
Traditional saunas use high heat and steam to heat the body indirectly, while infrared saunas use infrared technology to heat the body directly. As a result, traditional saunas tend to use a lot more energy.
The benefits of both are well documented on “why fire?” and a lot of the time it comes down to personal preference.
